Operational Excellence Engineer

Position Description:
Perform functions to apply techniques and principles that will improve the end to end operations and supply chain process that will deliver best in class safety, quality, productivity and cost. This position is intended for someone with organizational curiosity and will think beyond the current status quo. Using lean/six sigma techniques, the person in this role will drive improvements both individually and through cross functional teams.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Critically observe production activities, learning the process flow and helping to develop documented procedures to fully structure the activities observed
  • Develop and maintain Engineered Standards for Operation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Develop training for task oriented roles and train the trainers who will implement this training. Solicit feedback from the trainers on modifications or updates needed to training program.
  • Develop and audit leader standard work for machine operators, line leads and supervisors
  • Create value stream maps for various parts of the organization including operations, logistics, sales, R&D and quality assurance
  • Participate in Kaizen events that improve the fundamental flow in the organizations processes, systems and structures
  • Design and develop visual controls to monitor KPIs in Operations
  • Analyze KPIs and use the information to identify projects for improvements in quality, throughput, and line uptime
  • Measure the performance and work flows of production lines, analyzing Takt Time adherence, KPI performance and time observation
  • Prepare cost analysis of production processes and report on impact(s) to business, productivity shifts, line and equipment downtime and potential improvements
  • Continuously improve production processes, equipment, and performance; and submit proposals, including recommendations that will influence productivity, product improvements, improved efficiency standards, and labor utilization
  • Lead projects that improve our core business with labor improvements, cost reductions, improved efficiencies and product yields using DMAIC methodology
  • Develop Current State and Future State process maps of the manufacturing processes from the inception of an order throughout the process to customer receipt and determine constraints that can affect manufacturing principles. (Value stream mapping, lean manufacturing, six sigma)

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities:
Not Applicable
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or other related field, MBA is a plus
  • 3 - 7 years of related experience
  • Strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient computer skills specifically with Microsoft Office
  • Lean Sigma certification preferred
  • Ability to work off shifts when required and travel between two local facilities

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
