25 an hour Position Overview:
The Evening Janitor is responsible for ensuring that Calvin Christian School (classrooms, entryways, hallways, stairways, kitchen, office areas, restrooms, locker rooms, and gym) is cleaned every weekday evening in preparation for students the next school day.
The Evening Janitor shall be evaluated annually according to established criteria, including the imposition of annual performance goals and objectives that reference appropriate metrics and/or key performance indicators of success, as established in an annual performance plan.
Essential Duties Daily Duties Empty waste materials and refuse.
Hard surfaces will be (dust) mopped.
Carpets will be vacuumed.
Fingerprints removed from entryway glass on doors.
Stairways will be policed of debris.
Drinking fountains will be cleaned and disinfected.
Toilets, urinals, and sinks will be cleaned and disinfected.
Walls around trash cans, light switches, and fronts of counters will be cleaned to remove drips, spills, and fingerprints.
Janitorial closets kept clean and orderly.
Lights turned off as directed and doors secured.
Weekly Duties All open surfaces of furniture, window ledges, two-drawer filing cabinets, counters and other high horizontal surfaces will be damp dusted.
Chairs and miscellaneous items will be low dusted.
Open areas of tops of lockers will be dusted.
Stairways will be fully swept and mopped.
Monthly and Quarterly Duties Edge and details corners of floors.
Dust ceiling vents.
Other Duties as assigned Experience Previous experience working as a custodian strongly preferred.
Experience working in a school and with children.
Required Spiritual Qualifications Must have and profess a personal and mature commitment to faith in Jesus Christ and affirm the school's statement of faith/basis of instruction and mission statement.
Must believe, without reservation, and actively support the school's Statement of Faith, Foundational Beliefs, and mission statement; possess a strong, clear Christian testimony; demonstrate a mature, godly spirit as a person of faith and prayer.
Required Hours After school, Monday through Friday, 25 hours/week.
Physical Requirements Speak clearly so listeners can understand.
Understand the speech of another person.
Must be able to work in a stressful work environment.
The employee is regularly required to lift, walk, talk, read, see and hear.
The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle, or feel and reach.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
